A lot of people just start a business but our business was born out of a legacy which started with my Dad, Vernon McKinley Hamby about 60 years ago. The traditions, work ethic and the years of experience watching our Dad through the years has left a lasting impression on me still until this day. Dad instilled in us the importance of going the extra mile to satisfy each customer even if we thought it was too much. Dad would develop a connection with customers that was more than just a working relationship. He would do the job as if he had a personal interest in it. I came to learn it was about his integrity, work ethic and value system that caused people to embrace his approach to business. He made a people connection that extended beyond just doing business.
Many lessons were learned by watching our Dad. He would not take any payment for a job until the job was complete and the customer was completely satisfied, and today we still honor that same commitment. He would tell us, "When you clean up a job, leave it the way you would want someone to leave your yard", and this is the same expectation and standard that we hold ourselves and our team accountable to.
Today my brother and I are co-operators running the family business, and a little bit older than we were in our family photo. As co owners and operators we sincerely want to thank all of our customers both old and new. As a second generation tree company which was started over 60 years ago by our dad Vernon McKinley Hamby, we appreciate and value your business.
